About Me

My name is Louise Hunt, and I am a qualified integrative counsellor and have 16 years of professional work experience. Trying to cope with life and its challenges can feel overwhelming at times and you may not know where to turn for support through these difficult times.  You may be feeling anxious, depressed, or just not feeling your usual self. Whatever it is I can offer you a warm, confidential, and safe space to explore your thoughts feelings and actions.

As your therapist I will do my best to help you address the issues you have shared with me, as well as identifying the right course of action for you, either to help you resolve your difficulties or help you find ways of coping. I will help you understand yourself on a deeper level and to better cope with life's challenges.

I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage, but it is your first step towards healing. I qualified as an integrative counsellor in 2007, one of the positives of being an integrative counsellor is that it allows me to draw from several different theoretical approaches when working with my clients, we are all unique and my approach is definitely not, “One shoe fits all”. I am registered with the BACP and work within accordance of their ethical framework.

After qualifying, I spent 11 years working in a residential rehabilitation centre, working my way up from being a counsellor to managing a team of counsellors. I worked in a trauma informed way  with clients from diverse backgrounds and with a variety of support needs born from addiction. In 2015, I decided that I needed something different in my life. I left the rehab and have had a small private practice since then.
